Company History
Back in 1842, the Racine Threshing Machine Works was founded by Jerome Increase Case in Racine, Wisconsin. Only five years later, the McCormick Harvesting Machine Company was founded by Cyrus McCormick, and this would later be known as International Harvester or IH. You can probably see where this is going: a merger. The two companies initially saw great success in the agricultural industry with their efficient farming machines like row-crop tractors and combines.
In 1985, the JI Case company, as the Racine Threshing Machine Works was eventually known, acquired International Harvester’s agricultural division and the company names were combined into “Case IH®.” The company’s first product after this merger was the Magnum™ tractor series, which is still offered to this day, thanks to its efficiency, power and versatility. The machines that Case IH® manufactures now are based on over 150 years of manufacturing prowess.
